“After being closed for over two weeks, the Haven Diner in Port Washington has resumed operations with fresh culinary choices and updated seating arrangements.</br></br>
According to Alex Molina from Levittown, who spoke to Patch on Friday, his family recently acquired the establishment situated at the intersection of Main Street and Haven Avenue, approximately a month ago. While he opted not to disclose the purchase price, the diner will retain its original name.</br></br>
Molina’s motivation behind the acquisition was to pursue the “American dream,” aiming to offer the community a nostalgic, family-operated diner reminiscent of the ones he frequented as a child after attending church.</br></br>
“In the present day, such establishments are becoming increasingly rare,” he remarked. “We’ve lost those traditional family diners.”</br></br>

Following a renovation period lasting around 2 1/2 weeks, during which lighting fixtures, ovens, grills, and seating were all upgraded, the diner now boasts an updated menu featuring pasta, steak, and seafood options. Molina also intends to extend operating hours into the evening. Notable offerings include a breakfast special priced at $8.95, comprising two eggs prepared to the customer's liking, accompanied by a choice of bacon, ham, or sausage, along with a serving of juice and coffee or tea, available for just $1.60. "We're also introducing homemade baked muffins and cakes," he added. Selections range from blueberry and corn muffins to carrot and coconut cakes, with apple and cherry pies available for those with a sweet tooth. Additionally, Molina mentioned that the diner is equipped with two large-screen TVs and provides complimentary Wi-Fi for patrons. The diner, which officially reopened on August 19th, operates from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m., though it extends its hours by an hour or two on Fridays and Saturdays depending on demand." (Source patch.com)
